A perfect 10/10 usually isn't about knowing more than everyone else. It's about leaking fewer points on the questions you already know. These five habits are the difference between a score that swings wildly and one you can count on.
1. Read the whole question before the answers
It sounds obvious, but under a timer people skim to the options and pattern-match. The trap answers are written to reward exactly that. Read the full prompt once, decide what you think the answer is, then look for it, rather than letting the options steer you.
2. Eliminate before you commit
If two options are clearly wrong, you've turned a four-way guess into a coin flip. On the ones you don't know cold, cross out the impossible first. Your gut is a much better guesser when it only has two doors to choose between.
3. Bank the easy points fast
Timed formats reward tempo. Answer the questions you're sure of quickly and calmly so you're not rushing the hard ones at the end. The clock, not the questions, is what usually beats people.
4. Trust your first instinct on recall
For 'who / when / where' facts, your first answer is right far more often than the one you talk yourself into. Overthinking helps with reasoning questions and hurts with memory ones. Learn to tell which is which.
5. Review your misses, not your score
The score tells you how you did; the misses tell you how to improve. After a quiz, spend ten seconds on each one you got wrong. That habit compounds faster than any amount of raw playing.
