Somebody got benched, somebody hit a walk-off, somebody shot an airball with the whole gym watching. All of it got hashed out over the same table, usually loudly, usually with at least one person still in uniform. Practices before school, tournaments that ate whole weekends, a minivan that logged more miles between fields and gyms than most delivery trucks.
That's who built Sportagories. Not a media company. Not a trivia conglomerate. A family that has spent its whole life inside sports, on the field and in the stands, and finally decided to build the games we always wanted to play.
The Wins, the Losses, and Everything In Between
Here's what a lifetime of playing actually gives you. Not just trophies. The specific, physical joy of a win you earned, the kind that keeps you up that night replaying it. The losses too, the ones that sit in your stomach for a week, the seasons that ended one game short. Sports hands you both and doesn't apologize for either. And in between, it teaches you everything: how to work, how to lose without quitting, how to win without being insufferable (we're still working on that one), how to show up on the days you'd rather not.
We love all of it. The joy, the heartbreak, the lessons. And when you love something that much, you don't just watch it. You remember it. In detail. Obsessively. A life like that fills your head with thousands of moments, yours and the ones you watched from the bleachers or the couch with the people you love.
That's where trivia comes in.
Trivia Is How You Keep Score of What You Love
We've always been trivia people, but sports trivia is different from every other kind. It's not memorizing facts. It's memory. Every question is a door back into a game you watched, a season you lived through, a player your dad wouldn't stop talking about. Getting it right isn't recall, it's recognition. When you nail a question about a championship run, you're honoring it. You're proving that moment mattered enough to keep.
A Blank Map Isn't Blank If You Made the Trip
Our Sports Geography games might be the purest example. We put a blank map in front of you and ask you to drop a pin where a stadium sits. No labels, no hints. Sounds brutal, until you realize you already know. You know because you rode four hours in the back seat to that arena. Because you can still picture the exit off the highway, the parking lot three neighborhoods over because you were too cheap for the official lot, the walk up to the gates with the whole building rising in front of you.
If you've lived road trips to games, that map isn't blank at all. It's covered in memories, and we're just asking you to prove it. You can't fake this one. You either carry that map in your head or you don't.
Now, About Those "All Trivia" Sites
You know the big guys. Ten thousand quizzes about everything: state capitals, 90s sitcoms, cheese varieties of the world, and somewhere in the pile, a sports section that feels like it was written by someone who has never sat through a rain delay. That's the junk drawer model. A mile wide, an inch deep. A little of everything and a lot of nothing, because when you try to cover the entire universe of human knowledge, sports becomes one more tab between "Geography" and "Movies."
We looked at that model and did the opposite on purpose. Nobody comes to Sportagories to warm up with a question about Renaissance painters. People come here to play sports trivia. Full stop. Grids, connections, higher or lower, pickers, word scrambles, rolodex, chains, Close Call Sports, map games. Every pixel of it, sports.
Is that a limitation? Only if you think a steakhouse is limited because it won't make you sushi. Focus is the feature. When you go all-in on one thing, you get to go deep. Deep enough that the fifth question actually gets hard. Deep enough to separate the people who watched the highlights from the people who lived the season. The generalists can keep their everything buffet; somebody has to ask about cheese. All-in beats all-of-it every time.

Every game on this site was built by people who have felt the wins and eaten the losses and think both are worth remembering.
