About Connections: The Sideline

Connections: The Sideline is a free sports connections puzzle: sixteen tiles hiding four secret groups of four. Sixteen coaching legends from three sports — but four of them double as everyday words, and every one is bait for another group.

You get 4 mistakes before the board locks, and the trickiest group is always a wordplay trap built to steal a tile you would swear belongs somewhere else. This one is rated Insane, and every name is bait for another group.

All sixteen tiles are listed below in alphabetical order, exactly as you will see them on the board. How they group is the whole game, so no hints there.

How to play

  1. Read all sixteen tiles before touching anything; the traps punish fast fingers.
  2. Select four tiles you think share a hidden connection and submit.
  3. A correct four locks the group in; a wrong four burns one of your 4 mistakes.
  4. Solve all four groups to win, then share your recap grid.
