How this award grid works

This Heisman Trophy grid covers awards from 1980 through 2024 inclusive. Rows use the award year. Quarterback and running back mean the position in that winning season. The SEC column uses conference membership when the award was won, not a school's conference today. Officially reinstated awards count.

The same winner may fit a position square and an SEC square, but you can use a name only once. Start with the position and era that give you the fewest options, then save other winners for the conference column. All nine squares require different players.
