Grid: Modern NHL Trophies

Birth countries meet trophy shelves. Count awards for the 1981-82 through 2024-25 seasons only.

How it works

  1. 1. Tap a square. Each one sits where a row clue meets a column clue.
  2. 2. Name an NHL player who satisfies both clues.
  3. 3. You get 9 guesses in total. Miss a square? Take another swing at it. Every miss is tracked, and no player can be used twice.

How this award grid works

The rows use the country where each player was born, not the national team he represented or the passport he held later. This distinction matters for players who moved countries before becoming NHL stars.

Every column uses awards for the 1981-82 through 2024-25 seasons, inclusive. That starts with the first Vezina Trophy chosen under the modern voting system. Earlier awards and trophies for later seasons do not qualify. Pick nine different players; a winner of two eligible trophies still occupies only one square.
